Gene will discuss the interconnected topics\, touching on ethical\, environmental\, and health issues within our food system coupled with tangible solutions. \n* **Animal Advocacy & Sanctuaries**: Ethical treatment of animals in our food system is a major concern. Sanctuaries provide a glimpse into alternative relationships with animals\, but how can they scale their impact?\n* **Environmental & Health Issues**: Industrial animal agriculture drives climate change\, deforestation\, and biodiversity loss while harming health through pesticides\, processed foods\, pollution\, and antibiotic resistance. Sustainable solutions are needed. \nPresident and Co-founder of Farm Sanctuary\, Gene Baur has been hailed as “the conscience of the food movement” by Time magazine. Since the mid-1980s\, he has worked to raise awareness about factory farming abuses and promoted a just and compassionate food system. \nPARKING: University of New Haven\, Railroad Salvage Parking Lot (Then walk 5 min to Buckman Hall Room 120)
