SUMMARY:Climate Cafe Conversation about Green Burial
DESCRIPTION:Green burial is a way of caring for your loved ones who have passed with minimal environmental impact that conserves natural resources\, reduces carbon emissions and toxic chemicals\, and preserves the local ecosystem. A new option that is currently available locally is **[Aquamation](https://www.betterplaceforests.com/blog/all-about-aquamation-cremation-alternatives-for-humans-and-pets/)**\, a more environmentally-friendly way to care for our remains than cremation. No fossil fuels are burned during the process\, so there are no direct emissions\, and it uses 90% less energy than traditional cremation. The process is also available for our animal companions as an alternative to cremation. \nTo learn more\, come to the Unitarian Universalist Society East **Climate Café at 12:00 noon on Sunday\, June 9**\, in the sanctuary. Guest speaker\, Tom Tierney\, of Tierney Funeral Home\, will give a presentation and be available to answer your questions. Vegan snacks will be provided.
